Department Master

Department is a way to create a logical grouping in an organisation which groups people performing certain functions or areas of activities together. Examples are Marketing, Accounts, Purchase, Admin, Projects. It will normally have a Head of Department, manager(s) and executives. Departments create vertical hierarchies in an organization.

Code: Enter an abbreviated or short name of the Department. For example, 'ADMIN' for Administration department, 'ACC' for Accounts department.

Description: Enter description of the Department

Belongs To: Some departments can have a further sub-group or sub-department within them. Belongs to is only applicable for sub-departments. Select the name of the department to which the department belongs to.
